Here’s another of my DC101 thinline guitars. This one has a very nice tight book matched tiger maple top with a mahogany burst finish; the body is alder with a layer of walnut between the body and top just to add some contrast and interest to the overall look. I cut in and hand shaped a willow leaf style “f” hole. The headstock is the same piece of tiger maple; the neck is mahogany with a volute (to strengthen the transition between the neck and headstock) a two way truss rod and a rosewood fret board with Jescar frets, pearaloid markers and a bone nut. The finish is nitrocellulose lacquer. Scale is 25.5”, 22 fret and a 12” radius.
The tuners are Sperzel locking tuners to help keep the guitar in tune with the Bigsby B5 vibrato and a Tune o Matic roller saddle bridge. I chose the DiMarzio Blues Bucker pickups for this guitar and they are wired with a 3 way CRL switch and a push pull pot to coil tap the pickups for Humbucker and single coil, the Blues Bucker in Humbucker mode provide a P90 sound and in single coil have more of a Strat sound which makes it a pretty versatile guitar. The pots are CTS 500k with an Orange Drop tone cap and it has a Switchcraft jack and amber speed knobs to compliment the guitars color and to finish it off. The neck plate is laser etched with my J Willard logo.
